SWISSPUJA is a non-profit organization based in Switzerland. Started by Indian expatriate community in Switzerland in 2004, Swisspuja commits itself for promotion of Indian culture and values and intends to work as a platform to display the rich cultural heritage of India, facilitating integration with local community.

Durga Puja, the annual ritual of worshipping “Goddess Durga” is one of the major events SWISSPUJA undertakes every year. This is a four day festival, extending from morning until late night. During the four days festival Indian community from all over Switzerland and many other neighbouring countries joins at the venue of Swisspuja with their friends and families for the grand celebration. Although the scale is just a miniature version of the festivity in India, the participants enjoy the elaborate ritual, the festive mood and above all the spirit of participation in an event so far away from their homeland. To accommodate the increasing number of visitors, a more specious venue has been organized for this year’s event.

Swisspuja conducts itself as per rules set out for such organisations in Switzerland and the activities are mandated in the AGM ( Annual General Meeting) every year. Apart from Durga puja, Swisspuja also organizes a yearly picnic so that the community can meet once more in a year to socialise.

2013 is the 10th year anniversary for Swisspuja and the festival will be celebrated from 11th (Friday) to 14th (Monday) October in Langnau am Albis. We request your continued support and active participation to make this year’s event a grand success. We welcome everybody to join in the celebration.

GO GREEN: Every festival generates great volumes of non-environment friendly waste. During Durga Puja a lot of such unnecessary and avoidable waste is generated. This year our attempt is to reduce the volume of waste generated. To achieve this, we would limit the use of plastic plates and glasses. Hope you all would participate and co-operate in this cause. So, lets join together this Durga Puja with this eco-friendly mission.
